Area of activity
Monitoring the impact of the project on the environment and socio-economic development of the region

Objective

The monitoring carried out is aimed at registering changes caused by activities undertaken within the project. In the case of LIFE Pilica, we are talking about a wide range of changes: from changes in water quality, and the state of the natural environment, through the socio-economic situation, to changes in attitudes and individual decisions. Hence the extensive and diverse monitoring of the project. The challenge was to design the monitoring in such a way that it would be possible to capture changes in the best possible way and modify activities in the project during its lifetime.
Monitoring of the increase in the awareness of the inhabitants of the river basin is also carried out, as well as the process of cooperation between institutional entities involved in the PGW, to monitor the impact of capacity building on the effectiveness of the PGW implementation.

Activities within the theme

Monitoring the impact of the project on the quality of water from the Pilica catchment and biodiversity in the areas of implementation activities

We use data from the State Environmental Monitoring to assess the achievement of environmental goals. At the same time, as part of LIFE Pilica, selected environmental parameters are monitored to demonstrate the impact of specific actions implemented under IP LIFE as well as complementary actions on the environment. The monitoring includes hydrochemical analyzes in the field of biogenic substances and selected pesticides monitoring of flowing waters and the Sulejów Reservoir, as well as ichthyological monitoring and phytosociological analyses.

Product:

Reports on the effectiveness of implemented measures in the context of improving water quality and increasing biodiversity.

Monitoring the impact of the project on the environment and socio-economic development of the region

Works related to the monitoring of the impact of the project on the socio-economic development in the Pilica catchment area consist in observing the changes that are taking place in the catchment area in terms of the ecological awareness of the inhabitants and in the economic dimension. The aim of the work is to try to answer the question about the impact of the activities undertaken in the project on the above-mentioned spheres of functioning of the catchment area.

The activities are carried out by obtaining and analyzing statistical and survey data relating to the level of local government units located in the catchment area, on the basis of which monitoring reports are prepared (cyclical, containing the presentation of basic indicators relating to local government units located in the catchment area, and partial - containing their in-depth discussion).

Product:

Reports on the impact of the project on the economy of the Pilica catchment area.

Monitoring the cooperation process between entities involved in PGW

This action is focused on examining the cooperation of institutions listed in the water management plans (IIaPGW), i.e. those indicated therein as institutions implementing or reporting the listed actions. The starting point is the mapping of these institutions, identifying, defining the scopes of responsibility and competence, in order to be able to identify the existing structures, connections and the state of cooperation. Monitoring is carried out through the use of sociological methods, e.g. surveys, interviews - individual and group.

Product:

Reports "Analysis of the cooperation process between institutional entities involved in PGW in terms of capacity building".

My role in this activity is to identify Stakeholders, profile them, map them, understand the scope of competences and activities, and cooperate closely with them. It is also social research related to the identification of existing structures and the state of cooperation. In particular, I am involved in the process of examining the perception of Water Management Plans by Stakeholders, especially in terms of knowledge of the tasks and institutions indicated as responsible for the implementation of activities.
